Process 'Regedit.exe' is the registration editor used by 16-bit versions of Microsoft Windows. Regedit.exe is used to modify the Windows registration database which contains information regarding 16-bit applications and is used by 'File manager' and other applications that support 'Object linking and embedding'.
* Within Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Regedit.exe acts as the configuration manager and is used to modify the registry.
